Rock Island County Jail Roster

The Rock Island County, Illinois jail roster is a public resource that allows anyone to check who is currently in custody at the county correctional center. Public information about current and recently released inmates can be found on the RockIslandCourt.us website. Additionally, data is available through the official website of the Rock Island County Sheriff's Office, by phone, or during a personal visit to the correctional center. The roster is maintained by the Rock Island County Sheriff's Office and is regularly updated with new admissions and releases. The search allows you to find out the custody status of a person, charges filed, and admission date.

Search Current Inmates in Rock Island Jail

Online Search

  1. Go to RockIslandCourt.us — here you can search for public court and custody-related information.
  2. Enter the person's full legal name (last name and first name) or booking number, if known.
  3. Review the results: the list displays information about individuals currently in custody.

Additionally, the county online services page provides access to court record searches through the Judici.com system. If the person has been transferred to the Illinois Department of Corrections, use the IDOC inmate search.

Find Rock Island Jail Booking Records Online

A booking record is created every time a person is brought to the correctional center and registered in the system. This process includes recording personal information, photographing, fingerprinting, and assigning a unique booking number.

Each record contains:

  • Booking number
  • Date and time of admission
  • List of charges filed
  • Arresting agency (e.g., county sheriff or local police)
  • Bail amount, if set

To access booking records online, start by searching through RockIslandCourt.us or on the sheriff's office page. Court materials related to the case can be viewed for free at a computer terminal in the Circuit Clerk's office.

If you need an official criminal history, not just a booking record, contact the Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification. This is a separate procedure that covers statewide convictions.

Search the Rock Island Jail Roster by Last Name or Booking Number

The roster supports two main search methods.

Search by Last Name

Enter the last name in the appropriate field. For more accurate results, add the first name. A few tips:

  • Use the official legal spelling of the name — nicknames or abbreviations will not yield results.
  • If unsure of the spelling, try entering only the first few letters of the last name — some systems support partial searches.
  • Check for hyphenated or non-hyphenated spelling variations.

Search by Booking Number

The booking number is a unique identifier assigned upon admission. It provides the most accurate result and eliminates confusion between individuals with the same last name.

If the Search Yields No Results

  1. Check the spelling of the name.
  2. The person may have already been released — the roster only shows those in custody at the time of the query.
  3. If the arrest was recent, the data may not yet appear in the system — wait a few hours and try again.
  4. Call the correctional center directly at 309-786-4451 to verify the status.
  5. The person may have been transferred to a state facility — in this case, use the IDOC search.

Jail Roster Updates and Search Limitations in Rock Island

The inmate roster is updated periodically throughout the day, but not instantly. There may be a delay of several hours to a day between the actual admission of a person and their appearance in the online list, depending on the facility's workload and data entry timing.

Main limitations to consider:

  • Delay after admission. Recently arrested individuals may not yet appear in the roster until the registration process is complete.
  • Disappearance after release. Once an inmate is released on bail, by court order, or after serving their term, their record is usually removed from the current list.
  • Not an archive. The roster only shows individuals currently in custody. It does not maintain a complete history of all past admissions. To obtain archival data, submit a records request directly to the sheriff's office or use a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.
  • Data entry errors. Sometimes a name may be recorded incorrectly or in a non-standard format, complicating the search.

For related court information — hearing dates, fines, case status — use the Circuit Clerk's page, where the Daily Court Docket and case search tools are available.
